We have a new club champion (Anthony Ticinovic) and other new winners to celebrate from our 2025 Club Championships which ran over two weekends in October this year!
The Singles Draw started in a Round of 16 with higher and lower seeds pitted against each other so that the main draw continues with strong match-ups from the Quarter Finals onwards and the same for the runners up who would go into the Consolation Quarters draw.
Singles Champion Anthony Ticinovic played brilliantly throughout the tournament with a couple of matches going to tie-breakers and the final being a lot closer than the score suggests with a great effort from Antonluigi Gozzi.
Daniel Gomez won the Consolation Draw which included all the runners up from the Round of 16 and a few withrawals as the games were coming thick and fast - Daniel even played 4 matches in the final day of the competition as we squeezed the schedule due to bad weather!
The Doubles Draw started with two groups of Round Robins where the top 2 teams progressed to the Semi Finals and then the Final as well as a Consolation Final.
The Doubles Finals had some really fun matches to watch with Glenn Gugura & Olav Uittenbosch taking the title of Doubles Champions! Glenn had the best excuse for pulling out of the singles with the birth of his grandchild... double double congrats!
Father-and-son team Ari Lohia & Kunal Lohia won the Doubles Consolation Final with 12 year old Ari carrying the team for the most part (check out the videos for yourself)!
We were really impressed with the level of tennis from all the players and everyone had a great time so we look forward to the next event... hopefully coming in the summer!
